Dandy by R. D. Davies

D
Dandy, Dandy,
Where you gonna go now?
Who you gonna run to?
G G/F# Em
All your little life
       G G/F# Em
You're chasing all the girls.
     G G/F# Em
They can't resist your smile.
G C G D
Oh, they long for Dandy, Dandy.

Checkin' out the ladies,
Tickling their fancy,
Pouring out your charm
To meet your own demands,
And turn it off at will.
Oh, they long for Dandy, Dandy.

Knockin' on the back door,
Climbing through the window,
Hubby's gone away,
And while the cat's away
The mice are gonna play.
Oh, you low down Dandy, Dandy.
Dandy

F# B
Dandy, you know you're moving much too fast,
F# B
And Dandy, you know you can't escape the past.
     A D
Look around you and see the people settle down,
    A A/G A/F#
And when you're old and grey you will remember what
     A/F
they said,
     A A/G A/F#
That two girls are too many, three's a crowd and
            A/F
four you're dead.

   D
Oh Dandy, Dandy,
When you gonna give up?
Are you feeling old now?
    G G/F# Em
You always will be free,
    G G/F# Em
You need no sympathy,
  G G/F# Em
A bachelor you will stay,
    G C G
And Dandy, you're all right.
D
You're all right.
You're all right.
You're all right.
You're all right.
You're all right.
D Dsus D

From: tanis82 Date: Mon, 4 Mar 1996 11:18:27 -0500 Subject: chords to "dandy" the chords posted for the bridge of "dandy" are incorrect. they should read dandy-- you know you're movin' much too fast F# C# dandy--you know you can't escape the past F# C# look 'round thee-- and see the people settle down A E and when you're old and grey you will remember what they said: A A/G A/F# A/F that "two girls are too many, three's a crowd, and four you're dead. A A/G A/F# A/F
From: Laurent Guilbert Date: April 29, 2006 I think that the chord sequence G G/F# Em of "Dandy" should be replaced by G Bm Em, sounding in this way like "Well Resp. man" but in a different tone. Do you agree?
From: Peter Date: May 20, 2007 Chords should read: G - F minor -E-minor And for the refrain: F# -B-C#7 (2x) A-Bm -E (2x) A-A7-A/F#-A7 A-A7-F#m -A7(which leads to the D of the start again)
