1. Where can I find Kinks CD's?

You can find all Kinks CD currently in print at www.cdnow.com and other online CD stores. See my Kinks Links page for links to other online stores.
1.a Where can I find CD's of the Kinks RCA and Arista albums?

That shouldn't be a problem at the moment because all the RCA and Arista albums were reissued on CD (with bonus tracks) in 1998 and 1999 by Velvel Records. Velvel was acquired by Koch, Int. in 1999, but the CDs are still in print. You should be able to find them at most online CD stores.

1.b Where can I find CD's of the Kinks' Pye/Reprise material?

In the Spring of 1998, Castle Records (a UK record label) reissued all of the Kinks' Pye albums on CD (remastered and with bonus tracks). You should be able to find them at most online CD stores.

1.c Where can I find CD's of the Kinks' MCA and Columbia albums?

I think Phobia might still be available, but I believe Think Visual, The Road, UK Jive and Did Ya are all out of print. Check at stores that sell used CD's, or try the auction web site www.ebay.com.

1.d Where can I find bootleg CD's?

I buy most of my import and rare CD's at Midnight Records. They have an online catalog at www.midnightrecords.com.

2. I live in Anywhere, USA... can you tell me if the Kinks are planning to tour somewhere near me?

All the tour dates I know about are listed on my Tour Dates page. The Kinks haven't performed together since the Norwegian Wood Festival in Oslo, Norway on June 15, 1996, so you're only likely to find Ray and Dave solo dates listed.
2.a I see from your Tour Dates list that Dave Davies is playing New York City... do you know if he's planning to play anywhere closer to me?

Honest, I'm not trying to hide anything from you -- if it's not listed on my Tour Dates page then I don't know about it.

3. How can I contact the Kinks?

3.a Can you give me Ray or Dave's e-mail address?

You can send e-mail to Dave through Dave's web site. As for Ray, you can try sending him a letter c/o Konk Studios.

3.b Can you give me Ray or Dave's snail-mail address?

I do not know their addresses. But if you send something to Konk Studios, it just might get to them. You can also try sending letters to them through the Official Kinks Fan Club and the Official Dave Davies Fan Club (you can find the address on the Fan Club page).

Konk Studios
84-86 Tottenham Lane
Hornsey
London, N8 7EE
England

3.c Can you give me Ray or Dave's phone number?

I do not know their phone numbers, and I wouldn't give them out if I did. Come to think of it, I wouldn't give out their private e-mail and snail-mail addresses either.

But the phone number (from USA) for Konk Studios is 011 44 81 340 7873 (I don't know if that's current). Please don't bother the people there too much -- they have a studio to run.

4. Why can't I find the lyrics for the Kinks song "What I Like About You" on your web site?

Because that's a Romantics song, not a Kinks song. The Kinks have never played that song. Some other songs that are not the Kinks: "Switching To Glide" by the Kings, "Wild Thing" by the Troggs, "My Sharona" by the Knack, and "Turning Japanese" by the Vapors.

5. I've just visited your web site and see that you don't have "The Best of The Kinks' Greatest Hits, vol. 7" listed... why not?

Yes, there are hundreds of compilations that I haven't included -- either because I don't own them or I haven't gotten around to scanning in their covers and typing in their track lists and liner notes. If you have access to a scanner, feel free to send me an image of the cover, the track listing and any other relevant info and I'll be glad to add it to my site.
