From: "Alfred Russell" Subject: Don't miss the GLKPS Album! Date: Wed, 23 Aug 2000 18:27:36 +0200 To all Kinks fans and the Dutch fans in particular. Yesterday I received the Great Lost KPS Album + Bonus CD. Listening to the CD's for the first time was great fun! The two CD's together contain no less than 38 songs ( 2hrs.+ 20 min.!!!) Every single track is a must for every serious Kinks collector, really! Both CD's are in exellent sound quality and have appealing artwork based on the original Great Lost Kinks Album. The Bonus CD may very well be the first ever Bonus CD on earth that has extra bonus tracks on it! I am amazed that so many Kinks fans have the ability and facilities to make such professional sounding recordings. It makes me wish I could play an instrument myself or even sing without scaring the neighbours. I wonder who are behind the songs. Who are The Intricate Smears, The Survivors, The Dumb Angels etc.? What countries do they come from? Maybe Olga can give us some background information on the digest. Some of the songs stick closely to the original, other songs are different interpretations, some songs guarantee to make you laugh. Ayrton Mugnaini manages to mix "Never met a girl like you before", "Things are getting better", and "You really got me" in one song. Will Hawthorne places "Word of mouth" in the fifties. Some chick called Genevieve Foquinelle shows us how "Berkely Mews" would sound if it was recorded by Edith Piaf. The Spivs do a very drunken version of "Alcohol", a truly beautiful "Days" and they also deliver the final proof that George Harrison based "Within you without you" on "See my friends" ! I can highly recommend these CD's to all of you. If you live in Holland you can save on bank costs by placing your order via me. The price will only be DFL 26,- including postage, bank costs and the bonus CD. When you are interested E-mail me privately. ( Er zijn nog maar 4 belangstellenden in Nederland. Dit unieke project verdient echt meer aandacht. Van harte aanbevolen en de 26 piek dubbel en dwars waard! ) God save The Kinks and all the different varieties Alfred Russell Haarlem - Holland.
