Here are my thoughts on the some of the highlights. The Intricate Smears kick things off nicely with their energetic version of 'Hardway'. Next, Ginny Dodds' laid back version of 'Sunny Afternoon' serves as a nice contrast to the opening track. It manages to recreate the gin sodden atmosphere of a late night jazz club perfectly. I challenge anyone to finish listening to Ayrton's two contributions without a smile on their face. His enthusiasm and personality shine through. John Caviano's atmospheric version of 'Big Sky' and Superhype's enthusiastic rendition of 'Picture Book' serves to reinforce the variety of musical styles on the CD. Kevin Wayne McFall and Mitch Friedman's contributions are so infectious they should be put into quarantine. For me one of the highlights on Kovers 2 was Olga's moody version of 'I go to sleep'. This has always been one of my favourite songs and Doug Holland's interpretation certainly doesn't disappoint. Other tracks that deserve a mention include the Survivors folk tinged 'Scattered, Yurow's intense 'To the Bone' and Patrick Costello's rousing version of 'King Kong', which serves as a fitting climax to the project. Every track on the CD has its own musical merits and the artists can be justifiably proud of their achievements. If you haven't yet decided to obtain a copy I can wholeheartedly recommend it. If you still need persuading there's the excellent bonus CD as well. I'll leave my comments on the 'Spivs' CD for another time, as I don't want to outstay my welcome. I'd like to thank Olga and the two Geoff's for their efforts in bringing this project to fruition. Regards Gordon
