Date: November 9, 2005 From: Leif Thiborg This song is between two keys, so its hard to hear. Ive pitched it up a quarter note. And then made a midi of it. The hard bit is sunny rain, shine my way But the trumpets end on a B, so its Cmaj7 there and Not C7. The first verse I've settled for a cromatic Downscale (this may differ from the Kinks version) so theres variation between the verses. There are 7ths and bluesy b10 in the melody. Sunny rain could even be Db7-10. But I play Dbm7 to make it more harmonic. The rest of the song is correct in earlier versions . You can listen to the midi in the Kinks midi site. F E Eb Lazy old sun, what have you done to summertime?
